The recommendation is to begin around the third trimester or 28 weeks, but its never too late! To get the best results, starting around the the third trimester gives you time to prepare your body and work out any tight muscles or ligaments

Does my partner/support person need to come?
Yes! Attending this education is important for your partner or support team so they gain a greater understanding. Your person is recommended t come so they can learn the techniques that will assist you in your pregnancy and labour and birth.
What is included in The Positive Birth After Caesarean education session?
We discuss all birthing options available to women who have had a previous caesarean. This includes spontaneous labour, induction of labour, emergency caesarean and booked caesarean, and what's involved with each option. We offer evidence based information on all aspects of these options.
Please note, each woman should discuss their plan and care with their health care provider.
How many classes do I need to come to?
Only 1! The idea is you learn the techniques and practice at home with your support team. I am available if you have any questions after the session.
Does it matter that this is not my first baby?
Not at all! The OMP techniques can still be learnt and practiced with any pregnancy and birth. With each pregnancy you learn more about your body and OMP can complement that knowledge.
Where are the sessions held?
Depending on where you live and the type of class you choose. Albury Wodonga and surrounds are held at Nurture Midwifery Care in Wodonga.
If you prefer a 1:1 I can come to you at your home, or you can come to Nurture Midwifery Care in Wodonga. Prices may differ if you are living outside of the Albury Wodonga area.
What do I need to bring for the session?
Your partner or support person and a bottle of water. Morning tea provided with tea and coffee facilities if held at Nurture Midwifery Care.
Remember to wear comfortable clothing you can stretch in.
Are there any reasons why I can't do OMP?
No. The stretches and positions used in OMP should be comfortable and relaxing with the woman feeling supported. Follow the 'No pain' rule and the experience should be a relaxed one.
Exercises can be modified if required for certain conditions such as high blood pressure. Please talk with Anna before the session about any medical conditions.
